Positive Family Circle

A collaborative problem solving process that assists family units with addressing hurtful behaviors of the youth aged 10-18 in their charge.

Youth will:

  • Gain an understanding of how their behavior has affected others.
  • Acknowledge that their behavior resulted from a choice that could have been made differently.
  • Take action to repair the harm where possible.
  • Make changes necessary to avoid such behavior in the future.

Positive Family Circle includes those harmed by behavior, the youth who engaged in the behavior, and trained community volunteers to determine the most effective response to promote healing and safety for everyone.

Together we create a Plan of Action, support the youth in fulfilling the obligations of the Plan of Action, and strengthen the family unit to prevent future hurtful behavior.
